Kids are always a Surprize

It's a day after grad, and the grade eights now have finished the race. They're free. They don't have to come to school, but a few of them always do. They hang around getting teachers' autographs in their year books.

Two of them showed up in parkas with the hoods up. The temperature was 35 C. They said it feels cool when you take them off. OK, I get it.

Surprising, but wonderful, to hear them say thank you for the way graduation went. "Thank you" is the most beautiful sound in the world.
