In the latest chapter of what is now becoming a boring and predictable story, the provincial government continues to pretend it knows what it is doing while it actually does nothing at all.
All special assignment education workers, school administrators, cleaners and custodians are eligible for vaccinations beginning this week, the second week of April.
Teachers on the other hand can wait their turn. At this point Brenda's "turn" is sometime in May, maybe June. At that rate she'll be getting her second dose during the first week of September.
And in other equally boring news, Minister of Education S. Lecce made an announcement yesterday (Sunday) to parents that the provincial government intends (wants) schools to remain open for in-school learning when the April Break ends. Today, however the government is saying it is considering closing schools after the April Break.
So the most boring story ever continues to not unfold. "Let's make an announcement, and then let's not actually say anything decisive or helpful. Let's not move anything forward or solve any real-life problems. Let's just keep pretending that we're in control and that we know what we're doing. The people will be happy to know that we're on it; that we're on our game; that we are tirelessly working on behalf of Ontarians..."
Here's an exercise in ghosts of Education past: Name former ministers of Education who have also been tasked with hating teachers and dismantling public education:
John Snobelen
Kathleen Wynne
Laurel Broten
Liz Sandals
Steven Lecce
